- promoting the role of zoos and aquariums as conservation, education, and research institutions to address the most critical biodiversity challenges and opportunities facing our world
- increasing awareness of efforts to understand and address how humans impact animals in the wild with a particular focus on individual and community behaviors
Launched in 2017, the goal for the first three years of IUSF is to establish the foundation as a resource for information related to the two areas of focus listed above. During this initial three year period, IUSF will accomplish it's mission by:
- maintaining an updated website and social media with the latest news and information related to the two IUSF areas of focus
- recognizing outstanding efforts of zoos, aquaria, botanical gardens, and other individuals and organizations related to the two areas of focus listed above.
