The Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, created by legendary naturalist, zookeeper, and conservationist Gerald Durrell, launched a new initiative in 2018 called "Rewild our World". The initiative has some impressive goals: by 2025 they intend to have 10 ecosystems rewilded, 100 threatened species on road to recovery, 500 endangered species programs working more efficiently, and 1 million people better connected with nature. Given the prestige and effectiveness of the Trust and the fact that they have Henry Cavill as one of their Global Ambassadors to inspire interest and participation in wildlife conservation and the initiative and other Durrell programs, it is more than likely they will succeed.
